Beer Train 9: Stimulus Plan

Also, please do NOT plan on (or allow friends to) skipping the registration process to just tag along. A lot of planning and leg work goes into making this event happen and if you would like to see Beer Train happen again, please register along with everyone else.

Beer Train 9: Stimulus Plan

The good news is, I've upgraded the site to Drupal 6.2 so I can play with some of the new features. The bad news is, it broke the gallery module installation so there are some things that need to be resolved before gallery works again. I'm not super-thrilled with the gallery integration so I may go with some other method of displaying my photos... we'll see.

Here's another installment of what should be titled "The Most Infrequently Updated Blog On The Internet" (or some such).

I'm up in Oregon visiting my parents in what was pretty much a last minute trip. I didn't even confirm to my parents that I'd be coming up here until Saturday night at Warren's party. The drive up was about as uneventful as you would expect for a six hour solo trip. I did get stuck on I5 when traffic compressed to one lane for a roadside fire. One guard rail post was in flames but the remaining firemen didn't seem too concerned.

The slide show/video I made for the Mischief end of year party is on my website (for a little while, at least). It's 15 minutes long and 25MB, so please download it to view it multiple times (if you so desire) instead of streaming it from my site. It's in Microsoft's .wmv format, so email me if that's a problem for you (the quicktime .mp4 exploded to 100MB).

Brynne emailed me 5 or 6 pictures from the professional photographers at nationals, but the rest of the images were taken with my camera (and that's why you get to see so much of brynne and mirabelle).

I fly to Perth tomorrow evening for the WFDF Mixed World Championships. While Mischief isn't bringing its full roster from Nationals, we should be fairly competetive. Mainly, this is a fun tournament for us, but I think we should be shooting for quarters. It's tough to guess how strong the other countries will be, though (I really only have experience with the teams we've seen at nationals).

Brynne and I are flying to Perth via Auckland, NZ. Through a pretty sweet Air Newzealand deal, we're stopping there for a week on the way home. Mark, Megan, Mirabelle, Warren and M2 will be hanging out with us there.

Who'd have thunk. Mischief are the 2006 Mixed Cub Champions!

Huzzah, the new site is up (thanks Kitt).

I don't expect to update this blog very often, but the whim may strike me to put some of my thoughts down here.

I expect this site to be a vehicle for sharing pictures I take. Unfortunately, they'll mostly be boring shots of ultimate frisbee (and, as Ben fairly accurately notes, all ultimate photos suck).

We're about to leave for the 2006 UPA Club Championships where Mischief is ranked #2 in the mixed (coed) division (w00t!). So, I'm sure I'll end up with plenty of crappy shots of Florida. But, hey, maybe I'll get something decent when I'm in Australia or New Zealand.
